[edit] Plot Overview
Two Brady siblings, two different days at school:
- Greg comes home angry after a bad day at school, and the blame is placed solely on a classmate he has decided is his rival: Warren Mulaney. Warren, it seems, had beaten Greg in an election for class president and also for a starting spot in the varsity basketball team rotation. Greg — rather than try to learn from his losses — believes Warren had accomplished all this dishonestly and unfairly.
- Marcia comes home, her eyes glowing after a great day at school. She tells Jan and Carol that a high school boy had asked her out: Warren Mulaney.
Greg learns about Marcia's new boyfriend and is annoyed. Meanwhile, Marcia and Warren go on their date, but even though Warren is very nice, they realize they have no feelings for each other and break up. Marcia goes to tell Greg that they decided to no longer see each other, but Greg cuts in before she can get in a word edgewise and angrily warns her she will never see him again, then implies an unspecified threat. In spite, Marcia decides to call Warren up and resume their relationship.
Greg, after being reprimanded by his parents about attempting to control Marcia, asks whether he, too, can invite someone over without Marcia's approval. After Mike and Carol reply affirmatively, Greg does just that ... inviting over Kathy Lawrence, a girl that Marcia is upset with because she took her spot on the cheerleading squad. Things quickly come to a boil when both siblings bring over their respective dates at the same time and start a loud argument. Mike and Carol cut in and consel their children about using their dates to annoy each other.
Both Greg and Marcia are made to apologize to their "dates" ... but all turns out well in the end: Warren and Kathy decided they like each other and leave for the local teen hangout.
