The Beagles was an animated musical comedy airing on CBS.
Stringer and Tubby were the musical canine duo the Beagles. They were quite impoverished and would be put in outlandish publicity stunts by their manager Scotty. Two serialized episodes were featured each week with the middle feature elements from Underdog and Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales. A year later the episodes were transplanted to ABC under the series title The Beagles and Tennessee Tuxedo.
The title is ostensibly a tip of the hat to The Beatles, whose hit cartoon show had aired over the previous season on ABC. The Beagles would release an album of songs by Columbia records.
