That Crook'd 'Sipp (2007) is an animated comedy on Adult Swim about a family living in Mississippi that has resided there since the Civil War. Times have changed, the South has become more urbanized and the family has lost everything, but in their minds it's still the 19th century. The series was created by Adult Swim head of development Nick Weidenfeld, Jacob Escobedo, Mike Weiss and rapper Levell Crump (otherwise known as David Banner). Working titles for the show included Frenchman's Bend, God's Country, and God Bless, Mississippi.
A pilot for the series premiered on May 13, 2007 and the network indicated that they were ordering an initial six episodes set to premiere sometime in 2008. However, the episodes never surfaced and the status of the show was up in the air until mid 2009 when promos for Freaknik: The Musical appeared online. Freaknik is a 60-minute special using many of the same characters from the pilot, starring T-Pain in the titular role, along with Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Andy Samberg and others. It appears that the series was scrapped and the planned six episodes were transformed into this special. It aired in March 2010.
