Plot Overview
Striker visits Grant. Reena obtains a yearbook and then Mark tells her of his talk with Ruby and Lurlene at the Coop. Elena makes mention to Lurlene about Joel getting in touch with Rikki. Brette gets scared and Rikki runs to her. Billy Joe tells Nita they are having a picnic together and Nita tells him that the things Roger said bothered her. Lurlene tells Ruby that Joel is a friend of Rikki's. Gretchen and Joel make their way through the canyon. Nita tells Billy Joe that she is afraid that with all the work she has to do they won't have time for each other. Grant tells Striker that Hawker and Boots are the reason they are losing oil leases. Reena tells mark she wouldn't trust Ruby and suggests that Mark talk to Ginny about Miles Renquist. Ginny tells Mark all she knows about Miles and the Fire Compass. Brette calls out for Rikki. Reena tells Grant that things are not good at home. Roger tells Nita they may go to New York soon. Billy Joe asks Ruby if she has heard from Rikki. Mark tells Grant that Brette might be in danger. Brette runs to the miner's hut. Lurlene tells billy Joe about the wooden puzzle but Billy Joe doesn't fall for it. Reena decides to contact one of Ashley's sorority sisters and calls Julia Whitman but gets the mother instead of the daughter. Elena tells Lurlene that Joel was going to take a woman named Gretchen Randolph to Hitopah. Reena, pretending to be a reporter for KVIK, calls Julia Morrow and makes plans to have lunch with her tomorrow. Lurlene tells Ruby that Elena said that Joel and Gretchen were going to Hitopah. Gretchen spots Rikki and Brette heading to the miner's cabin as Joel walks by unaware of what is taking place.
