I removed "The magnetism Jack finds beneath the hatch was causing the compasses to fail precisely pointing out north." from the Answers section because it is not definitive. It is at most, probable. --Pottedmeat 21:35, 22 Sep 2005 (EDT)

How is it not definite? There was a big magnet in the ground that gave off a magnetic field which disrupted the compass. That seems pretty definite to me. --IndieRockLance 21:52, 22 Sep 2005 (EDT)
There are a million reasons, a ton taking place in real life. There are many large magnets that would draw a key toward it, hell, look at the electromagnets that pick up cars. It doesn't mean that when you drive past a wrecking yard, your compass stops working. Unless they show us that this magnet is ridiculously large, or even imply that it's an electromagnet, and not just a regular magnet (which seems weird, since it seems that the power was turned off), or if they had Jack say "Oh, that's was messing up the compass" then it would be something definite, something physical. Right now, it's postulation. --Pottedmeat 22:20, 22 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Well, alright, I'll be waiting for that to be explained in words before I put that bit in once again, though personally I'm still convinced that it is what's causing the compass' malfunctioning. Thanks for explaining though. =)-- Jammet

Conformity

Just so you guys know, I think it'd be a really good idea to populate this page up a bunch and then use it as a template for all the other episode pages.

Random suggestion: All that stuff under Allusions and References should probably go under Notes, with Jack's Flashback and The Numbers being the two headers. Notes should act as In-Depth Discussion of any given episode. Allusions and References are references to real-world events and items. --Wizardryo 00:56, 23 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Sounds good to me. There are a few items I used to document on my personal site that I'll stick up here and see how they go over. --Pottedmeat 01:18, 23 Sep 2005 (EDT)
So what should we do with things which are allusions to other episodes but which aren't specific references? For example, I just added the fact that Sarah's toe-wiggling in her room clearly parallels Locke's toe-wiggling at the end of "Walkabout" — but that's a bit too subtle to be called a "reference" to the other episode, IMHO; it's more along the lines of the fact that both pet dogs we've seen (Sun's and Walt's) were, basically, stolen from their original owners; or the way that so many characters (Walt, Sawyer, Locke) have been orphaned. --Ray Radlein 11:44, 23 Sep 2005 (EDT)
I call it scrutiny, but that's just me --Pottedmeat 16:47, 23 Sep 2005 (EDT)

I don't think it's quite there just yet. "Arc Advancement"? "Referbacks"? "Scutiny"? Let's give it some time before we start changing the other pages... --Fayed 02:12, 23 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Just as a clarification, by "all the other episode pages," I mean the Lost ones. The only header that should change from show to show is the Notes header, which is just a housing point for In-Depth analyzation about the episode. --Wizardryo 02:31, 23 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Walt's appearance

I don't know if this goes on this page, but when you play back Walt's whispers backwards, he's saying "...press the button. The button is bad." Sayid interrupts the end of the whiper, which might cut off the beginning of him saying perhaps "Don't", but idaknow. All I know is what we can actually hear. --Semifamous 18:16, 27 Sep 2005 (EDT)
