TKO Is a game show which was intended for ABC's daytime line-up. Three pilots were made; it was possibly shelved in favor of the Match Game revival.
Three contestants played for a whole week. Three columns of categories are displayed with the first of each column worth $100 and going down the column to $500. To score the money, a question is posed followed by three sets of initials. Whoever rings in must select the correct initials and fill out what the initials stand for. Contestants must select each category in order going down. Incorrect responses allow the other two contestants to select either of the other initials. Two categories are "Knockout" categories. Getting this right not only adds to his/her score but allows him/her to deduct its money amount from the score of either opponent. Round two has the money values doubled.
Round three is the TKO round. A series of questions are read with the three sets of initials shown. A player ringing in stops a randomizer on a money amount. Getting the initials and answer right allows that player to deduct that amount from either opponent. Play continues until two contestants are at zero, eliminating them from further play and awarding the survivor his/her score money plus $5000. At the end of the week, all players who have a positive money score keep what they've won.
