Plot Overview
A group of police academy recruits are put through a rigorous camp ran by Sergeant T.J. Hooker, a former detective who gave up his gold shield and went back to being a uniformed officer following a fatal on-the-job shooting incident. Although Hooker seems like a cold drill instructor type, he's a very flawed man whose life and marriage were affected by both the job and his drinking problem. It soon turns out that these raw recruits have to get ready very quickly, as every possible officer is needed to track down a pair of armed robbers on a killing spree.
