One time writer for Studio 60, Matt didn’t become a big name until Harriet Hayes joined the cast. His writing became noteworthy as he tried to impress Harriet. His career at Studio 60 soon came to an end when Jack Rudolph, upset with his left-leaning views, fired him. He went on to write a hit movie, and won a Writers Guild Award for it. Following the on-air meltdown of Wes Mendell, creator of Studio 60, Matt and Danny were brought back to the show as executive producers.
