Plot Overview

Notes

"The Cage" did not originally air as part of The Original Series and was originally considered partially lost due to the editing process used on the original color negative to create the two-part episode "The Menagerie". After the presumed-lost negative trims of the unused scenes from the pilot were found and returned in 1987, the restored, full-color version of "The Cage" debuted in first-run syndication on November 27, 1988 as part of the special The Star Trek Saga: From One Generation to the Next
