At one point when Riker still believes that he is in the future, his "son", Jean-Luc, shows Riker a picture of his mother, Minuet. He knows right then that it is a ruse, because Minuet is the holodeck woman created by the Binars in the episode "11001001" -- he knows she was a holodeck creation.
