• Unable to find Riker, Picard must proceed with First Contact. His first contact is a warp scientist, Mirasta Yale. She convinces Picard to keep Riker's existence on the planet a secret from the government.

Memorable Moments

• One of the most memorable moments in this episode comes when Riker is trying to escape from the hospital where he is kept under heavy guard. Lanel, presumably a nurse, offers to create a distraction, but only if he will make love to her... because she has "always wanted to make love to an alien".
