Trivia
The Show
This episode ends with a gigantic nuclear blast. The status of the series was tentative at the time, so if the series was cancelled, it would at least have a proper ending. As it turns out, the series got renewed, which created a problem that the writers managed to cleverly solve.
Behind the Scenes
Allusions and References
Hammer says to general "I'm a real fan of what you guys did in Grenada". He refers to the military intervention (Operation Urgent Fury) led by USA on 25 October 1983 that was a reaction to the coup performed by pro-Soviet/Cuban forces led by general Houston Austin. Coup was subdued and Grenada maintained ties with USA and surrounding countries.
After learning that the young soldier in Trunk's office is a traitor, Hammer shouts 'Why, you Judas, you traitor, you Benedict Arnold!'. Benedict Arnold was a American general who tried to surrender the fort at West Point, New York to British troops during the American Revolution.
