Sky News was launched in February 1989 as one of Sky Television's original 4 channel line-up. It was Europe's first 24 hour news channel.
The station has 7 bureaus excluding those located in the United Kingdom & Ireland. These are located in Brussels, New Delhi, Johannesburg, Jerusalem, Moscow, Beijing and Washington, D.C.
