Season Two of FUNimation's Shin Chan premiered on April 12, 2008. Although the entire 26 episode season was ordered for broadcast, the show was pulled from the Adult Swim schedule on September 8, 2008 in a radical restructuring of Saturday night programming. The final five episodes of the season were initially posted online on Adult Swim's streaming video service. In November, the schedule was reworked again to include the final episodes.
Writer Alex Muniz has indicated that it is unlikely that FUNimation Entertainment will produce a third season of the English dub, although there has not been official confirmation that the dub has been cancelled. Writer Jared Hedges has suggested that future seasons may be produced, even if they aren't aired by Adult Swim.
