Sea Patrol is an action drama based on the Royal Australian Navy's patrol boat service, which defends Australia's borders and enforces its economic exclusion zone. The show is set on the fictitious HMAS Hammersley, an aging Freemantle class patrol boat. Mirroring real-life changes in the R.A.N., the second season will feature a state-of-the-art Armitage class boat.
At the time of its premiere, Sea Patrol was the most expensive Australian TV drama ever made.
