Plot Overview
Scooby is framed for a series of attacks by a mad dog that looks like him. He is locked in an asylum for insane animals, leaving Shaggy inconsolable (in spite of Velma trying to do a poor Scooby imitation for him). The main culprit--a tubby nerd with a fixation on Velma, named Jason--is ruled out. The gang is left to spring Scooby and stop the Fright Hound on their own with some cryptic clues from Professor Pericles, a parrot that was the original mascot of the original Mystery Inc., whose whereabouts are unknown. At the end, Shaggy makes his decision: missing Scooby showed how much he cares for him and he's not ready for a girlfriend. The decision breaks Velma's heart and has her on the outs with Scooby.
