Plot Overview
An obnoxious and sensationalistic news anchor first crosses paths with Father Cavanaugh when he crashes the funeral of a police officer killed in the line of duty and upsets the man's widow. He manages to get Sarge to allow him to do a story on a gym for wayward kids that the police and church are running, but the priest is outraged to see that what he thought would be a thoughtful piece about something good in the community has been turned into a hatchet job that demeans the kids as habitual criminals. When the reporter is assaulted by one of those very kids, Sarge goes to bat for the young man, but matters turn worse when someone takes a shot at the newsman.
