SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron was an animated adventure series airing on Atlanta's TBS Superstation and in syndication.

Jake Clawson and Chance Furlong were two hotshot pilots for the Enforcers, a squadron of airborne police patrolling Megakat City. However, some thinking outside the box by Jake and Chance caused some colateral damage to the City and Enforcer headquarters. To pay for the damage, Jake and Chance are sent to run a junk yard where they use the discards to build their own state-of-the-art-technology planes and gadgets. In disguise, they jet off as Razor and T-Bone--the SWAT Kats--and protect Megakat City from the monsters and megalomaniacs (such as the Pastmaster) that threaten it--much to the irritation of Enforcer chief Commander Feral.

Razor and T-Bone have an ally in deputy mayor Calico ("Callie") Briggs. The mayor of Megakat City is a cowering bureaucrat who sees the SWAT Kats as a mixed blessing--saving the city but destroying half of it doing so.

An unmade episode of the series, The Curse of Kataluna, would eventually be used as the springboard for the made-for-video animated movie Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island.
