From The TV IV

Rude Awakenings is a comedy-drama set in the inner Auckland suburb of Ponsonby, shaken up with the arrival of Dimity Rush and her family when they move there from Kumeu, in the outer Auckland. Bored by the country lifestyle, power hungry Human Resources dynamo Dimity is keen to shed the chains of her old lifestyle and immerse herself in a new, more glamorous one that comes with city living. Her ideal is shattered somewhat by the less than perfect (and in her mind, 'trashy') neighbours living next door (in what can best be described a run-down hovel), and when it becomes clear to them she wants them gone, will it turn to 'all-out' war??
