Rock Star is a reality series, like American Idol that involves finding a singing star. However in the twist is that they are building a rock band and adding a singer to lead it. In the first season they used the band INXS which had lost its lead singer many years prior. In the second season they built a band from scratch using popular musicians (Tommy Lee from Mötley Crüe, Jason Newsted from Metallica, and Gilby Clarke from Guns N' Roses).
