Powers is a police procedural drama pilot based on the comic book series of the same name first published by Image Comics and later published by Icon, an imprint of Marvel Comics. The series is about Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, two homicide detectives who specifically investigate instances of super-powered crime.
The script for the pilot is being written by series creator Brian Michael Bendis, who had also previously adapted his noir crime graphic novel Jinx as a screenplay. FX is reportedly interested in airing the series, possibly to fill the crime drama void left by The Shield. The pilot was announced in February 2009 and has made its way through the scripting stage. At Heroes Con 2009, Bendis said he "should find out in a couple of weeks what’s going to happen with [Powers]."
