Popeye and Son is a children's comedy that aired on CBS. It was the third animated series based on Popeye.
In this version, Popeye and Olive get married and settle down in the village of Sweethaven (locale of the 1980 Robin Williams movie). Olive presents Popeye with a son, who grows up to adolescent stage hating spinach. However, he'll eat it and perform when he needs to when trouble brews, mainly from Bluto's offspring Tank.
This series ran one season and was replayed in the 1990s on the Family Channel.
Hanna-Barbera Productions co-produced the series with Popeye licensor King Features Syndicate. Warner Bros. Television is the show's distributor.

DVD Releases
A release featuring 4 episodes of the show was set to be released in September 2008 as the second volume of the Popeye & Friends line (with the first volume featuring segments from The All-New Popeye Hour), but it was later pulled as Warner decided to focus on collectors, referring to their theatrical Popeye cartoon sets.
