Paid Programming: Icelandic Ultra Blue is an infomercial parody pilot broadcast on Adult Swim advertising a fictional line of products called "Icelandic Ultra Blue."
Much like The Rising Son, next to nothing is known about the series. It was be aired four times (Nov. 3-6) at 4:30AM and has not been promoted. The only place where the episodes were referenced was on the website's schedule. Like Rising Son, it doesn't have its own page on the website. Furthermore, the episode was aired without opening titles or credits. Some have speculated that Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are involved because of the comedy style, while others have suggested that Mr. Show alumni are behind the series due to David Cross apparently lending his voice to the animated sequence.
The pilot was announced at Dragon*Con in September 2009, but with no information other than that it is an "infomercial within an infomercial within an infomercial." Whether or not more episodes will air is unknown, although the pilot leaves an opportunity open for a continuation. The pilot ends with the founder of the company encouraging viewers to buy their products, insinuating that it's inevitable. His expression then changes, he states "phase 1 is complete" and stares at the camera until a blank slate reading "To Be Continued..." appears. The presumption is that there would be more going on with Icelandic Ultra Blue than just infomercial parodies.
While the series was not picked up, Adult Swim did greenlight more fake infomercials much in the same vein.
