Biography

Tennet made first TV appearance was in an anti-smacking commercial at age 7, followed by a guest appearance on "Xena: Warrior Princess" in the season 4 episode "If the Shoe Fits...". She played Princess Alesia, a little girl who ran away from home because she did not like her new stepmother. She later appeared in Peter Jackson's motion picture adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" as a Rohan girl named Freda who, along with her on-screen brother Éothain, escaped the invasion of Rohan by Saruman's Wild Men.

Tennet also appeared in two other major motion picture productions in New Zealand. She played the role of Nicole Mitchell in the movie "Kids World" starring Blake Foster, who played her older brother Ryan. She won an award for that role in the 2000 Nokia New Zealand Film and Television Awards for Best Juvenile Performer. She also had a minor role in the kids movie "Ozzie" starring Rachel Hunter and Rose McIver. Following this, she starred in a short film named "Watermark" as Megan, a girl who became trapped in the swamps. The movie earned four awards at the New Zealand Drifting Clouds Film Festival in 2003, including a personal one for Best Actress, and one for Best Short Film.

A few years later, Tennet earned the role of the flighty circus performer Lilith on "Maddigan's Quest,". Lilith was the daughter of Yves, one of the leading members of Maddigan's Fantasia. While in secondary school, she gained the role of Tuesday Warner, for the fifteenth anniversary season of "Shortland Street", who (last seen as baby), returned to the soap's fictional suburb of Ferndale, after many years, now a teenager, along with her father, Guy Warner.

Following her graduation from Auckland's Epsom Girls' Grammar School in 2008, Tennet gained the role of teen genius Dr. K from "Power Rangers RPM", the show's seventeenth season. Dr. K serves as the team's mentor and technical assistant. Her focus episodes reveal her past as part of the Alphabet Soup think tank, and the decisions she made which led to the events of that season. While on RPM, she reunited with her former "Maddigan's Quest" co-stars, Rose McIver and Milo Cawthorne.

Currently, Tennet has been participating in various plays and shows throughout New Zealand. Her last major show was as part of the TelstraClear Season of "Stepping Out" as part of the Auckland Theatre Company. She played the role of Lynne, a nurse who takes tap-dancing lessons. In late July 2011 she appeared as Emilia in the Peach Theatre Company's production of William Shakespeare's Othello, and as Dorothy in September as part of that company's production of The Wizard of Oz.

Along with her stage work, Tennet made a guest appearance on an episode of The Almighty Johnsons as Delphine Hansen and appeared in the miniseries Underbelly: Land of the Long Green Cloud.

In addition to her acting talents, Tennet is also a highly talented dancer, having earned various awards for her jazz and tap performances in New Zealand.
