Nicktoons is a cartoon television network.

History

Debuting on May 1, 2002 as Nicktoons TV, the network was renamed to Nicktoons in 2003. In 2005 the name was changed to Nicktoons Network, and then back to Nicktoons in 2009.

The channel is mostly a depository for reruns of Nickelodeon's animation library, but does also air programming unique to itself. Some shows are acquired like Marathon's Martin Mystery, and one in particular is a vast, international co-production titled Skyland. Nicktoons is attempting to establish its own brand separate from Nickelodeon by acquiring animated shorts and showcasing new talent. The network currently targets kids and young to mid teens.
