Taller Than Everest? is the sixth episode of the nineteenth season of NOVA, and the three hundred forty-eighth episode overall.
The episode spends much of the first detailing the Great Trigonometric Survey of India, showing the meticulous care used to measure each leg of the Great Arc. The first segment ends with the survey team using this work to calculate the height of a very distant mountain, later named Everest.
The last part looks at more modern methods used to confirm those original results.
