Plot Overview
The victim is a housewife and writer of a popular 'mommy blog'. The killer is a teacher at a music conservatory and also the wife of the conservatory's owner. Angie, Paula and Lucas are called out to a crime scene at a city park, where the victim died from being impaled on a tree branch. Betty insists that it couldn't have been an accident and that she was pushed forcefully onto the branch. A nearby jogger is a witness...he claims that the dead woman had a young boy with her and that she followed the killer into a wooded area, but didn't see what happened next. The case now becomes a child abduction case as they can't seem to find the boy, the dead woman's son, anywhere, but it appears that he may have went with her willingly. They visit the conservatory to speak with the killer's husband, who tells them that she was unhappy with their inability to conceive, and they discover that she bonded with a previous student who died mysteriously and that the missing boy may have the same symptoms as that boy. The fact that both boys were related to the victim, one being her son and the other her stepson, leads the detectives to a motive. Throughout the case, Angie can't help but notice that Paula seems to be ill, and Paula reveals that she's pregnant. Also, Lucas learns that the man who broke into the lab and raped Betty may walk due to a lack of witnesses.
