Michael Q. Schmidt
Michael Quentin Schmidt is an American actor, writer, producer, visual effects specialist and fine arts model.
A newcomer to the film and television industries, Michael says he owes his success to his backgound as a nude artmodel since 1996. His first film project was as the the reference model used by animators at the Sony Pictures Imageworks Studios for the character of the "Mountain Troll" seen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Michael credits his outgoing spirit, energy, and unabashed nature to 10+ years as a fine arts model. Also quite skilled when it comes to using computers, Michael enjoys building them in his spare time.
Not content to simply be an unusual character actor, Michael pushes the envelope at every opportunity. Because of his outre' performances for Comedy Central's "Distraction" game show, HBO's "Penn & Teller's Bullshit", Oxygen's "Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency", ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and Adult Swim's "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job", Michael has become the "go-to guy" for any director seeking a totally & unabashedly naked actor. At the 2007 premier of the film "Rebel Studz: The Uncensored Documentary", Michael was asked about his role as the naked drummer Texas George Gant. With a chuckle, Michael quipped "The role was made for me. Hell, you could put me in a tutu or a tuxedo and I ain't never going to be pretty. So I may as well be comfortable".
Michael has made appearances in several videos dressed in drag. Most recent are his appearances in the 2007 Omovies hits "Paris in Jail: The Music Video" and "Lindsay Fully Loaded" where he took on the persona of a large and quite un-pretty female prison inmate. These least sealed his fame as one of the "ugliest women" in music videos. Due to several very outrageous live performances in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, he is now known as one of, if not THE, biggest male strippers in the world.
Prolific, Michael seems to love a continued challenge, keeping himself busy with a wide range of projects, accepting any project and any role where he can infuse himself with the art. Says Michael, "I love being able to offer a director more than they thought they could get... more than they might have hoped for... scenes and variations that give them more options in post. Far better to have something they may not use, than to be in edit and wish they had shot something they did not. Since my participation in a project makes me a partner in its success, I vote for never holding back."
