Miami Vice (1984–1989) was a groundbreaking one-hour action series following the lives of "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, two hard-hitting Miami Detectives who worked the city's glitzy criminal underworld.

The series premiered on NBC on September 16, 1984 with a two-hour pilot. It remained on the air for five seasons and in that time became a staple in the network's lineup.

Noted for its use of cutting-edge fashion, fast cars and popular music, the series was considered ahead of its time and remains a timeless portrait of 1980's American culture.
