Plot Overview
Terminally ill multi-millionaire David Blair Phillips hires Mannix to find his missing wife, folk singer Susan Ward (who was found to have faked a suicide and went into hiding to escape from the controlling Phillips), but both Mannix and the wife soon become targets of killers sent by Phillips, which turns out to be the alias of lookalike killer Henry Talbot, who had murdered the real Phillips some time earlier and assumed his identity.
