Plot Overview

Mannix tries to prevent his friend, a veteran cop, from exchanging himself for hostages of a vicious criminal out for revenge.

This episode marks the acting debut of Eddie Egan, the former New York detective whose exploits formed the basis of the popular novel and movie, "The French Connection". The character of 'Popeye' Doyle in that famous movie was based on Egan.
