Basic Information
Character History
Charles Emerson Winchester III was born in Boston. He grew up in a very high class family and his personality shows his upbringing. Before being drafted and sent to Tokyo, Winchester worked at Boston General and was almost head of Thorasic Surgery. When he was drafted, Winchester managed to secure a position at Tokyo General. Through an unfortunate cribbage game against Colonel Baldwin, Winchester was sent to M*A*S*H* 4077 as a replacement surgeon for Major Burns (who had just gone AWOL due to emotional instability following the marriage of his girlfriend to another man). Charles was only supposed to be there for 48 hours but ended up spending the rest of the war there. Colonel Potter (CO of the 4077) kept asking for a permanent surgeon, so I Corps made the Major's stay permanent. Winchester (although very put out) stayed for the rest of the Korean War.
