Shin Lupin III is a comedic anime series based around a group of master thieves as well as an incompetant Interpol officer's attempts to catch them. Shin Lupin III is the second series in the Lupin III franchise. This series' episodes are identifiable by the fact that Lupin III wears a red coat in all of the episodes, rather than a green or pink jacket.
This series was the longest running of the three Lupin series at 155 episodes broadcast on NTV in Japan. It is also the series that was licensed by Phuuz Entertainment Inc. and Geneon Animation and broadcast on Adult Swim. The dubbed version is heavily edited in order to include tongue-in-cheek references to Western contemporary pop culture and more comedic dialogue. Although 89 episodes have been licensed and translated, only 26 have been broadcast.
