Casey Novak is the permanent assistant district attorney assigned to the Manhattan special victims unit played by Diane Neal. She replaced formed ADA Alexandra Cabot in 2003 after Cabot was placed in a witness protection program.

- Before being cast as Casey Noval, Diane Neal previously appeared in the season three episode Ridicule as Amelia Chase, a suspect in a rape case against a male stripper. She was tried and eventually convicted in the case.
