Everybody's Favorite Bagman was produced as a pilot for CBS in 1988. NBC picked up the show in 1990 and aired this episode as the sixth instead of the first. Important differences: shot on 16mm film to get a grainy, aged look; Roy Thinnes as DA Wentworth instead of Steven Hill as DA Schiff; Max and Mike appear to be meeting Paul for the first time (due to when it was shot) although they'd worked with him before (due to when it aired).
