Laverne & Shirley is a sitcom that aired on ABC. The show is a spinoff of Happy Days. Laverne DeFazio and Shirley are two young bachelorettes who work at the Shotz brewery in Milwaukee. Most of their misadventures have them trying to meet boys and trying to better their lives. Their neighbors are Carmine Ragusa (pro pugilist and the girls' friend) and Lenny Kosnowski and Andrew "Squiggy" Squiggman (the latter two a pair of well-meaning buffoons).

Later episodes had the crew relocating to Hollywood. The show spawned a Hanna-Barbera cartoon for ABC's Saturday morning line-up in 1981, unofficially billed as Laverne and Shirley in the Army.
