Plot Overview
It's homecoming week at Ollie's alma mater, Dragon Prep, but since New Jersey is so far away, the Kuklapolitans decide to organize a homecoming of their own. During the planning stage, Fran takes a call and tells them there's a gentleman in the lobby with "a distinctly collegiate air about him". It's Gene Rayburn, who at the time the morning man on WNEW radio in New York City. He helps mediate a truce between Mme. Ooglepuss and Buelah Witch after last night's fight. Ollie sings the Dragon Prep fight song, and Fran sings "Down The Old Ox Road".

Behind the Scenes
This episode marks Gene Rayburn's first appearance on network television. Apparently Burr and Fran had gotten acquainted with Rayburn during a trip to Nantucket over the summer break. Much later, Kukla and Ollie would appear on the Match Game panel, and Gene would reminisce about the events of this episode.
Gene was credited as co-writer of the lyrics to "Hop Scotch Polka", which was set to an old instrumental he rediscovered for his radio show. It was performed on KFO several times during the 1949-50 season.
