Allusions and References
- The Dukes of Hazzard: An obvious reference to the series and its characters are made throughout the episode. One of the cars involved in the race is a bright orange 1969 Dodge Challenger (the same car as the General Lee, albeit without the Confederate flag or large "01" painted on the doors), and its two drivers are young men with stereotypical "southern hick" characteristics and manners. Although the real General Lee ran on regular gasoline, the use of moonshine (as an alternative fuel for this episode's "General Lee") is another overt reference to the show Knight Rider was trying to knock off.
