KSTU is an American local station in Salt Lake City, Utah. It serves the Salt Lake City area and the state of Utah, along with bordering areas of Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and Arizona. Tribune owns the station, which is an affiliate of FOX operating on digital channel 28 (and displaying as virtual channel 13, the station's analog channel from 1987 to 2009, on digital tuners).
Sinclair Broadcasting is purchasing the Tribune group of stations and then divesting itself of nine stations to comply with ownership caps. KSTU is among them; Sinclair will then sell KSTU to Fox, making it an O&O for the network (as it previously had been from 1990 to 2007).
