Plot Overview
During a high-speed chase with murderous armed robbers, a TV news crew interferes with the pursuit, allowing one of the two robbers to escape, and Hunter winds up arresting the mouthy reporter and team leader for interfering with police. He in turn responds with a hatchet-job report on Hunter that focuses on the brutality in some of his arrests. Hunter confronts the reporter, who responds with more negative broadcasts that turn people against the cop. When the reporter's place is trashed and he later is shot at in his parking lot, suspicion initially falls on Hunter, who goes through the reporter's hate mail to find a better suspect. Hunter and McCall have more work to do when the reporter is killed shortly after meeting with them.
