Plot Overview

General Burkhalter brings an atomic scientist to Stalog 13 to have him develop an atomic bomb. The man would only need a pen and paper, but most of all quiet. Hogan and his men listen as usual on the coffee pot. Recognizing the purpose of the doctor's visit, Hogan decides that the doctor has to be killed. Hogan has Kinch radio London for an assassin to be brought into camp. His men meet the assassin and an unexpectant visitor. That visitor is Colonel Crittenton, the British officer who had replaced Hogan, but had been transferred for attempted escape. Crittenton had escaped again, learned about Hogan's plan to assassinate the doctor, and wants to help. Crittenton's help will prove useful, but not in the way he imagined. Hogan's plan to assassinate the doctor will change when he learns that Doctor Vanetti has no plans to develop the atomic bomb for the Nazis. Hogan would come up with a plan to smuggle the doctor out of camp, and off to London.
