How to Catch a Papa Bear is the third episode of the fourth season of Hogan's Heroes, and the ninety-fifth episode overall.

Plot Overview

Hogan has a rendevous with some new contacts that he was to meet later in the night.He won't be able to meet with them having learned that Klink is planning a surprise inspection.Hogan knows that he would be missed,but if one of the heroes goes in his place,they won't be so missed.Newkirk is chosen for this rendevous.To make sure that Klink would'nt be suspicious of Newkirks absense,Hogan will make the excuse that Newkirk is ill,and is sleeping in his Room while Hogan sleeps in Newkirks Bunk.The ploy works,but for how long is undetermined.Newkirk meets with this Underground Unit in an abandoned Barn, which consists of three men,and a woman.After discussing plans to sabetage a target,the Barn is raided by the Gestapo.As the Gestapo is arresting everyone(including Newkirk),one of the men attempts to run,a Gestapo pursues him,and fires several shots at him.Hogan,and Heroes grow worry that Newkirk has'nt returned.Meanwhile,at Gestapo Headquarters Newkirk,and the Woman are in a Cell together.Newkirk becomes suspicious of how the Gestapo learned about their rendevous.He suspects the two men of being spies.Little does Newkirk is correct in his suspicions of the two men.Little does he that the two men are not the only Spies.Hogan himself suspects that Newkirk has run into some trouble,but will not act until he gets a message from him in some way.Until then he,and the heroes will sit tight.

Newkirk meets with what he believes to be a new Underground Unit.Klink,and Schultz inspect Hogans Barracks to see that each Prisoner is in his Bed.The Heroes all dress in Gestapo Uniforms to infiltrate the Cell,to free Newkirk.
