Don't Forget to Write is the thirteenth episode of the second season of Hogan's Heroes, and the forty-fifth episode overall.

Plot Overview
Klink receives word from General Burkalter that all Stalog Colonels will be given examinations,and those Colonels not in shape will be sent to the Russian Front for shapining up.Klink is hoping that he will be in good enough shape to stay on as Commandant of Stalog 13.Hogan not willing to have Klink sent to the Front helps him get into shape.But on the day that he is given his physical examination,Klink through in good enough shape will be sent to the Russian when he passes the most important test...he can breathe.Klinks replacement ill be a Captain Gruber.Gruber immediately starts making plans to change Stalog 13 that would interfere with Hogan's Operations.One night calling for a surprise inspection,Hogan decides to act in order to save Klink from being sent to the Russian Front.He has Carter,LeBeau,and Newkirk go out through the Tunnel to three hiding places.When Schultz makes the final count,he reports to Gruber that three of the Prisoners are missing.Gruber is surprised,but his surprise soon turns to fear at having to report to General Burkalter the missing escaped Prisoners.Burkalter is already awaken,and the news of the three escaping prisoners is not good.The only person happy with the situation is Klink who is watching everybody running around like a dog chasing its tail.Hogan comes to Klinks Quarters to discuss the matter,and offers Klink an out of going to The Russian Front.At first Klink seems unwilling,but then changes his mind.In Klink Office Burkalter wants to know Grubers plan in recapturing the three escaped PrisonersHe wants Gruber to find them,but Gruber not knowing the ways Prisoner think,is not certain as to what to do.Hogan however knows that had Klink been in charge that the Prisoners would'nt have escaped because Klink(Hogan says with much insincerity)knows how the Prisoners think.Burkalter though a bit sceptical reluctantly agrees.He calls Klink into his Office,to offer reinstate Klink provided he finds,and returns the escaping Prisoners.Klink accepts Burkalters offer.With Hogan accompanying Klink,and Schultz,they find Carter,LeBeau,and Newkirk,and all return to Stalog 13.
