Hell's Kitchen (USA) — Season Three

Episode 306 is the sixth episode of the third season of Hell's Kitchen, and the twenty-sixth episode overall. The final seven chefs compete in a lobster themed battle.

Episode Breakdown

• Challenge: Chef Ramsey's challenge for the teams involves lobsters, but Josh is told to sit out so that they are evenly matched. Despite Bonnie's protests about how much she hates dealing with lobsters, the teams are told that they must prepare three creative and appetizing lobster dishes in an hour and must use the live lobsters from in the tanks presented to them. After the hour is up, Bonnie and Rock both score points leaving the teams at a tie. He compliments all of the dishes, except for Melissa's, but eventually declares the red team to be the winner.

Blue: Citrus Herb Salad with Poached Lobster (Melissa), Buttermilk Fried Lobster Tail (Rock), Lobster Bisque (Brad)

Red: Grilled Lobster Salad with Baked Apples (Bonnie), Lobster Risotto (Julia), Lobster and Crab Bisque (Jen)

• Reward/Punishment: As the girls team won the challenge, they are to be interviewed and photographed for a feature in In Touch magazine. The losing team, however, is told that they must go through the garbage and pick out everything that is recyclable. Rock loses it and goes on a heated tirade about how the blue team's dishes were clearly more creative. Just as with previous seasons, one of the losers (in this case, Rock) is sent over to the photoshoot to go through their trash and be heckled by the winners. This just pisses off Rock even more, sending him past angry rants and into quiet seething.
• Dinner Service: For this night's dinner service, Bonnie's grilled lobster salad is being added to the menu as the main course and, to further the punish the challenge losers, the blue team must run to the lobster tank and grab live lobsters when the orders come in. Josh agrees to be what he calls "the lobster bitch" for this added challenge. The blue team languishes in the kitchen, from the start they find themselves behind the red team by a wide margin and everyone (with the exception of Rock) performs poorly. Brad accidentally serves a third appetizer to an order of two, Melissa ruins scallops, risotto and the monkfish while Josh's potatoes are too thin. Conversely, Bonnie starts a fire, Ramsey gets into an argument with Julia, and then both Julia and Melissa argue. In the end, the Blue team runs out of potatoes and an entire six-top table brings their overcooked entrees back. Ramsey shuts the kitchen down and tells the blue team that they, collectively, must choose two nominations.

Winner: Red

• Elimination: Even though Ramsey told the blue team to choose their nominations, he immediately boots Melissa without even asking them who those nominations are. After her walk of shame is over, he threatens both Brad and Josh with elimination but backs off and lets them both continue.
