The Not Making of a President is the fifteenth episode of the second season of Happy Days, and the thirty-first episode overall.
Politics come into play and create family conflict as Richie and Howard debate whether incumbent president Dwight Eisenhower (Howard's choice) or Adilai Stevenson (whom Richie backs) is the best candidate in the 1956 presidential race. Not helping: all of Richie's friends, including Fonzie, Ralph and Potsie, and his girlfriend, Gloria, are all Eisenhower backers.
