Plot Overview
During the ceremony, the Allens continually confuse members of Richie's side of the wedding party – Fonzie, then Roger, Chachi and Potsie – for Richie, whom they had yet to meet. Eventually, things are cleared up, and then all the preliminaries: Potsie sings, Jenny holds her emotions, Fonzie makes a crack about how Ralph (presumably standing with Richie by the phone as the ceremony takes place) is being Ralph ... and Joanie tells how much she loves both Richie and Lori Beth.
Just before the ceremony, Howard and Marion talk to Richie. It's a very touching conversation, as Howard reflects how proud he is of his son and that he and his mother will always be there for him. Marion, holding back tears, reflects on the day Richie was born and that she'll always think of him as being in her arms.
The ceremony goes off without a hitch, and at the end, Lori Beth holds back tears as she tells her new husband, "You're talking with Mrs. Richard Cunningham ... and I love you very much!"
And then it's off to Greenland and the honeymoon.
