- The character was written out of the series as a result of off-camera comments made by Isaiah Washington about his co-star, T.R. Knight. Washington reportedly called Knight a "faggot" during a confrontation on the set. Despite eventually apologizing and filming a public service announcement, he was fired by ABC on June 8, 2007. There were apparently also a number of other unpublicized back stage confrontations that contributed to his firing.
