Music Hath Charm is the twenty-sixth episode of the first season of Gilligan's Island.

Plot Overview

The Castaways form an Island Band.Lovey feeling that the Island is lacking culture,encourages Music as a form of bringing culture.She encourages Gilligan to practice playing his Island made Drum.Gilligan practices with enthusium.So,enthusiastic in fact that his Drum playing can be heard for miles on a nearby Island.On that Island is a tribe of primitive natives.Having listened to Gilligan's Drum playing,the Native Chief interprets it as War Drums.They determine to attack the Island before they are attacked.Meanwhile,the other Castaways are preparing for the island concert.Each Castaway makes,or is gien a Musical instrument to play in the Band.Howell,and The Skipper argue over who will Conduct the Orchestra.Mrs.Howell makes the final decision.She will Conduct the Orchestra.Skipper,and Howell will each play a different instrument.As the castaways are playing,The Natives has arrived.The Chief sends an advanced Scout to check out the Island.He finds the Castaways playing.He is spotted by both the Professor,and Skipper.They grab him.Having failed to communicate with the Scout(The Professor speaking to him in several languages),they learn from the Scout's knife handle that he is part of a Warring Tribe,and that his Tribe is preparing for an attack.They no sooner learn of this,than the Tribe appears over the hill.While the Scout escapes,The Castaways run to each corner of the island in their attempt to escape.Hoaving found each Corner of the Island covered by the Natives rowing in Canoe Boats,the Castaways find refuge in a Cave.The Cave is cold,and so the Castaways build a fire to keep warm.The Professor realizing that sooner,or later,the Warring Natives will find them,he comes up with a plan to scare the natives from the Island.He recalls a famous Doctor using a Radio to make the Natives think that the Doctor was a God,and because the Natives believed that the Doctor was a God,his life was saved.The Professor will use that plan,and will bring Gilligan along to help.The plan to scare the native into thinking they were Gods nearly worked until Gilligan clumsily drops the radio,thus shatting it off.The Natives advance towards them,but Gilligan manages to escaped.The Professor is tied up someplace.The Skipper,and Gilligan returns to the Area where the Natives are.The Skipper uses a flashlight to shine at the Nativesto make them think they are gods.Making a scary sound,The Skipper attempts to turn the Flashlight.The Flashlight does'nt turn on.As it turns out,Gilligan forgot to put batteries in the Flashlight.The Natives again advance,and this time,The Skipper is caught,and Gilligan again escapes.He returns to the Cave to inform the others about the Skipper being caught.This time Mr.Howell goes along to attempt a rescue.This time Gilligan comes up with a plan to scare the Natives into thinking they were Gods.His plan is to uses a Fire Extinguisher to spray the white substances all over his hair,this would convince the Natives that they are Gods.Gilligan makes a scary sound,and the Natives are startled.Gilligan then sprays all over his head,and this frightens the Natives who backs away from Gilligan.Mr.Howell tries the same method,but the Distinguisher is empty.The Natves again give chase,and again Gilligan escapes alone.Having run out of men(with the exception of Gilligan)the remaining four Castaways go to the same Area perhaps to try another rescue.They find the area deserted.Gilligan,and the women go in search of the men.It is morning by now,and they find the men playing the Music,along with the Natives dancing.Seeing this Gilligan,and the Women join the men in playing the Music which obviously is soothing to the Natives.Later,the Native leave the Island in their Canoes,the Castaways attempts to communicate with them to help them to rescue them.The Natives cannot understand them,and so continue on their way.Gilligan decides to give them a send-off as a gesture of being friendly.His Drum playing again can be heard on another Island,and like before some other Native Tribe interprets the sound of Drum playing as War.And,just like the earlier Natives these Native Tribesmen get into their Canoes to attack...Maybe.
