Gentle Ben is a adventure drama that aired on CBS. The series is based on the 1965 children's book Gentle Ben and the 1967 motion picture Gentle Giant.
Gentle Ben, a domesticated American black bear, lives with young Mark Wedloe and his parents Tom and Ellen Wedloe in the Florida Everglades, where Tom works as a wildlife officer. Ben often gets involved in the Wedloes' adventures as they face situations such as marauding wild animals, criminals or other unsavory characters and the occasional natural disaster (such as a brush fire or a hurricane).
