Happenings

Bobbie and Tony want to make sure that Amy keeps the secret of the party for Steve's 30th anniversary of being at General Hospital. The first patient Angie Costello that Steve saved 30 years ago visits with him. Her daughter is in labor at GH. Amy tells Sean that she saw Michelle Bails at GH looking for Ryan. Scott interviews surrogates to carry the baby with disastrous results. Bobbie thinks the party for Steve at GH will be the perfect over for her to sneak into Ryan's office. Tony distracts Ryan and Bobbie gets a copy of the address book from Ryan's office. Robin offers to take a look at Karen's disk that her paper was on it to see if it was tampered with. Announcer: General Hospital
("Faces of the Heart" plays as John Bernadino enters the studio)
John: Hello, I'm John Bernadino and welcome to General Hospital. Today's a very special day for us. It marks our 30th anniversary on the air, making this the longest running show in Hollywood. And the opening you just saw was from that first episode we aired on April 1st, 1963. 30 years, that’s a long time ago, but I remember it like it was only yesterday. General Hospital was only 30 minutes long; we only had 2 dressing rooms: one for the men, one for the women. Now we have 40 dressing rooms and 31 contract players. In the first years, we wore our own clothes, except for the doctors’ and nurses uniforms. Now there’s a costume designer, and an entire wardrobe department. Well, a lot has changed over the years, but we’re still on that 7th floor nurses station where it all began. On today’s anniversary show, I’m gonna take you on a walk down Memory Lane, and you’ll get to see that very first episode of General Hospital that aired 30 years ago. As you’re about to see, today’s a day of new beginnings. I truly hope you enjoy today’s show and keep watching General Hospital for another 30 years. Thank you.
